DFL Rankings (Week 4)
1) Broncos (3-0)
Previous Week (1)
– Taking care of business is the moto of the Broncos, who had a very easy win against an injured and ownerless Cowboys squad. The Broncos really are going to be tough to beat with Bell back and his defense being one of the tops in the league
Prediction this week: Broncos over Cowboys
2) Ravens (2-1)
Previous Week (2)
– The Ravens team showed no mercy against a division rival Packers team. Scoring the 2nd best output for the week, just behind the Redskins. This week the Ravens takes on the Redskins and it should shape up to be the game of the week having the #2 vs #3 seed up against each other. With how well balanced the Ravens squad is find it hard to beat them.
Prediction this week: Ravens over Redskins (GAME of the WEEK)
3) Redskins (3-0)
Previous Week (3)
– I must first say, I have had the toughest 1st 3 games!!! Packers, Patriots and now the defending champs Ravens!!! If I can pull off this miracle it will be a great victory for me that I will always remember. But the honest likelihood against a very balanced team like the Ravens seems very hard to do. Granted I did get some solid play from my Steeler players (Tuitt, and Timmons). I hope it will be a competitive one, best of luck to you Ravens!!
Prediction this week: Ravens over Redskins (GAME of the WEEK)
4) Patriots (2-1)
Previous Week (5)
– What a performance against the Redskins last week, the Patriots offense is really one to not be messed with. With how Brady, Gronk, Lewis, and Blount are playing they will be tough to beat. However, this week the Patriots have a bye this week, and the Patriots can be in line for another loss with all his top players on a bye. I feel the Eagles can pull off the upset this week
Prediction this week: Eagles over Patriots (UPSET)
5) Packers (1-2)
Previous Week (4)
– I really thought the Packers had a chance to upset the Ravens. Allen got the wakeup call but Lynch and Hill must have not gotten the message. Hill looks to be in full blown time share now with Giovanni Bernard, and Lynch is pounding over the years is really starting to catch up to him now with nagging injuries. I think this week it depends on if Rodgers has another 5 TD game, which is possible against the poor 49ers’ secondary. I see Packers sneaking this one out against the Giants.
Prediction this week: Packers over Giants
6) Titans (3-0)
Previous Week (11)
– I was proven wrong on this one!! The Texans were a heavy favorite, and with no QB the Titans still pulled off the amazing upset. Big thanks to Larry Fitzgerald!! The Titans have moved up 5 slots which is a big jump and have an amazing 3-0 record. Look for the Undefeated record to continue against a banged up Jets team without Big Ben.
Prediction this week: Titans over Jets
7) Lions (3-0)
Previous Week (7)
–The Lions had one of their lower scoring weeks last week, but still came away with the W. Big part to that was a mediocre performance from Rivers. Look for that to change this week, however the Lions are matched up against a very solid Raiders squad. On paper I see tough matchups for the Raiders so I will pick the Lions in this one.
Prediction this week: Lions over Raiders
8) Bengals (2-1)
Previous Week (8)
– Another HUGE upset last week. However, the Bengals at the last minute was very close to coming back only lost by 1 ½ points, James Jones almost helped pave the comeback but in the end came up just a little short. This week the Bengals face a tough task against a fiery Buccaneers team. Look for the Bengals to get back on track, but it won’t be a cake walk – this game should come down to possibly a catch or a tackle winning the game.
Prediction this week: Bengals over Buccaneers
9) Texans (2-1)
Previous Week (6)
– I don’t remember what the projections was for last week’s game but the Texans seemed like a heavy favorite. Big props to the Titans for pulling off the upset. This week the Texans take on the Vikings. The Vikings are starting to get into their groove, I see Luck getting back on track and Kaepernick still struggling against a good GB defense. If Randle can have another game like he did last week that could help push it into the Texans favor, but see the Vikings pull off the upset.
Prediction this week: Vikings over Texans (UPSET)
10) Raiders (2-1)
Previous Week (10)
- The Raiders have been busy in trades, and he has done some good ones. This week he made a last minute trade getting Martellus Bennett from the Buccaneers and I was very close to taking them over the Lions just for that reason. I still think it will come down to the wire but still see the Lions taking the game, I see Tannehill struggling again, sadly.
Prediction this week: Lions over Raiders
11) Saints (2-1)
Previous Week (15)
- The Saints need to be noticed!! They were one of the bottom teams last year, but this year through trades and especially the draft have really put together a great team. Now last week career games from Dalton and Freeman will for sure help. This week they are matched up against a good Jaguars team, but I envision the Saints still riding the hot streak and steaking the claim that the AFC EAST is the best division in the DFL.
Prediction this week: Saints over Jaguars
12) Giants (1-2)
Previous Week (9)
– I don’t know if I’m just a huge fan of Todd Gurley, I thought he was going to come out blowing away the league. He needs a little more time until he is the BEAST he has been talked about. Look for him to get more work this week but not enough to help get the Win. The Packers are going to be a tough win. If Bridgewater can have a solid game along with another repeat performance from Green it could be a big upset.
Prediction this week: Packers over Giants
13) Buccaneers (2-1)
Previous Week (12)
– Well my prediction was correct if AP had a game of his good ‘ole days then we were looking at an upset. The Buccaneers kept it close but in the end the Panthers came out the victors. This week the Bucs are up against a tough task with the Bengals. I think it will be a dog fight in this one, but see the favorite coming out as winners. I think if the Bucs would have held onto Bennett this week it could have changed my decision.
Prediction this week: Bengals over Buccaneers
14) Cardinals (2-1)
Previous Week (13)
– The Cardinals had one of those weeks were the guys forgot to show up to the right game. The Falcons said “Don’t forget about me in this division.” That’s why I stated in my first initial rankings I think this division with the Bucs, Cards, Falcons, and Panthers will be very entertaining to watch. This week the Cardinals are up against a Steelers team that are coming off their first win, with McCoy dinged up I think I’m taking the upset in this one.
Prediction this week: Steelers over Cardinals (UPSET)
15) Jaguars (1-2)
Previous Week (14)
– The Jaguars had an entertaining week against the determined Eagles looking for their first win. It was a fun one to pay attention to, however the Jaguars came out with their first win of the season, and are looking to carry that momentum this week – except they face another team on a winning streak the Saints. I feel it will be closer than the projections project the game to be like, it doesn’t help Antonio Brown wasn’t his normal self – but the Jags still have a chance with the Saints having no TE. Look for the Saints to squeak this one out.
Prediction this week: Saints over Jaguars
16) Falcons (1-2)
Previous Week (18)
– Like I stated before, the Falcons gave his division a wakeup call to not forget about them. They proved they still belong in the playoff talks. The big takeaway is the huge pickup of Tyrod Taylor leading the way for his team. Look for that leading to continue against the banged up Cowboys team. If my predictions come true this week 3 teams in the NFC WEST will be 2-2.
Prediction this week: Falcons over Cowboys
17) Vikings (1-2)
Previous Week (16)
– The Vikings finally got their first win of the season, and are looking to get back to their preseason ranking into the top 10. This week they play a Texans team that were shocked by the Titans. The Vikings are really starting to come together with Luck turning things around, Evans healthy, and Gio a solid contributor. To pull off this upset the Vikings will need solid performances from all those that I mentioned.
Prediction this week: Vikings over Texans (UPSET)
18) Panthers (1-2)
Previous Week (19)
– After claiming their first win of the season against division rival the Bucs. The Panthers look to carry that confidence into a game against the powerhouse Broncos squad. After already a strong performance from Bell, it doesn’t look so good, The Panthers will have to hope for a Stafford dud and Charles mediocre day to be able to claim an upset.
Prediction this week: Broncos over Panthers
19) Steelers (1-2)
Previous Week (20)
– The Steelers are breathing a big sigh of relief after the big win and upset over the Bengals. I thought for sure the Bengals were going to overtake the Steelers. But the Steel Curtain held on strong. This week the Steelers look to move up further in the rankings. And looking into the crystal ball I see it fuzzy but definitely a possibility. Having Gore show promises and Cooks getting Brees back should help the Steelers pull off another upset against the Cardinals.
Prediction this week: Steelers over Cardinals (UPSET)
20) Eagles (0-3)
Previous Week (17)
– It must be St. Patrick ’s Day early in October already – LOL. The Eagles get a Patriots squad that will be missing roughly 100 points alone from last week’s game. It didn’t help that the Eagles has Mariota on a bye this week too, but he was very strategic and picked up Flacco to help gain some extra points. Look for the Eagles to be singing the popular NSYNC song “Bye Bye Bye” in large part to the Patriots players on byes this week, and what looks to be a UPSET in the making.
Prediction this week: Eagles over Patriots (UPSET)
21) Cowboys (0-3)
Previous Week (21)
- The Cowboys will be looking very nice next offseason. Having a solid core of young talent and picks to add to that talent. We will see how recruiting goes for a new owner, but should be fun having new blood in the league next offseason. Until then, we have to see the depleted and injured Cowboys team take a beating each and every week. Same continues this week.
Prediction this week: Falcons over Cowboys
22) Colts (1-2)
Previous Week (22)
– The Colts are in for a tough fight this week against the winless Chiefs. But this week the Chiefs might find an edge. Having no Cutler in the starting lineup hurts, unless Karlos Williams can be AP like this week it could result in a W, but see the Chiefs coming out with their first win of the season.
Prediction this week: Chiefs over Colts (UPSET)
23) Chiefs (0-3)
Previous Week (23)
– Is this finally the week we get to see the Chiefs come out the victors. I think we will. The Chiefs has solid lineup with Dunbar, and Bortles leading the way it will be a huge Bonus if CJA can finally put together a game he was capable of having last year. I think the Chiefs will pull off the upset and finally rid of the dreaded “ZERO” in the win column.
Prediction this week: Chiefs over Colts (UPSET)
24) Jets (0-3)
Previous Week (24)
– I can’t state this enough but when you have a KICKER that gives you 15 points, on Thursday and you can’t put him in your lineup you should be looking at the door my friend. You’re not trying to better your team or even compete, and that is not what the DFL is about, you compete each and every week. I’m sorry to go off like this but its simple start your players, bid on waivers – if you can’t do that we will have to look at replacing you.
Prediction this week: Titans over Jets
