From the Desk of the Commissioner
We have an issue that previously hadn’t been a significant issue since we introduced the blind waivers claim format a few seasons ago. As I’m sure you could see in the title, owners placing invalid bids on players, has been an issue this year already.
The league front office (myself, Travis, Eric) communicate each week during the waivers process of any issues, questions, etc and the most common is owners placing bids on players when they’re already at the roster limit and/or going over the salary cap in acquiring a 2nd starting QB (resulting in the multiple QB cap penalty)
So, going forward, we will have the following rules:
*1st offense: lose player back to FA/next team in line, be moved to the end of the waiver order for all claims in that week, PLUS the following week *2nd offense: lose player back to FA/next team in line, be moved to the end of the waiver order for all claims in that week, PLUS the following 2 weeks *3rd offense: lose player back to FA/next team in line, be moved to the end of the waiver order for all claims in that week, PLUS the remainder of the season
**NOTE: it is on owners to monitor their own rosters/salaries as much as it is the league office. Use pen/paper, notes app on your phone, whatever to follow your add, drops, trades, salaries, etc to avoid such issues
Also, with quarterbacks changing as much as they are, pay attention to your roster to avoid penalities for having 2 starting quarterbacks on your roster.
