Playoff Rankings:
Playoff Teams:
1. Vikings : The Vikings enter the playoffs with the best record in the DFL and on a 5 game win streak. The great regular season means they earned a by week and will look towards next week. Getting Dalvin Cook healthy for the playoffs is a big boost to the teams hopes of winning the title this year. The defense is a little thin and an injury to a DL or LB could be detrimental, but the Vikings strength this season has always been about the offense, with Luck, OBJ, Calvin Ridley, and TJ Yeldon (#17 RB this year), his TE situation could be better as it is a guessing game with Jesse James and Tyler Higbee. The Vikings are my pick to make it to the DFL Super Bowl from the NFC
Record: (10-2)
2. Bengals : The Bengals managed to hang onto the top spot in the AFC despite ending the season on a 3 week losing streak. Luckily for them they started the season off with 9 straight wins and most of those were dominate performances. This team enters the playoffs as the 3rd highest scoring team in the DFL, led by the top WR Tyreek Hill and top 5 QB in Jared Goff. The rest of the offense is Kareem Hunt, Gronk, Alshon Jeffrey and AJ Green, so not bad at all. Can the Bengals get over the hump and win the DFL after having a few losses in the final? They are my pick to face off with the Vikings in the DFL Super Bowl
Record: (9-3)
3. Redskins : The defending champions of the DFL had an up and down season, started it off with a surprise loss then rattled off 6 straight wins. Following 6 straight wins they lost 2 in a row, and now enter the playoff with a 3 week win streak. The Redskins made a few big trades this season in hopes it would give them the best shot to win back to back titles, trading for Carson Wentz, George Kittle, Joe Mixon and JuJu Smith-Schuster. He already had the #2 RB and #7 WR in Barkley and Nuk Hopkins, respectively. The Redskins were the top scoring team in the regular season, and that was made possible by having arguable the best defense with the top DL, 2 top 15 LBs, and a top 5 DB.
Record: (9-3)
4. Rams : The Rams come into the playoffs on the longest active winning streak with 8 wins in a row. After starting the season off 1-3 the Rams did not lose again this season. Can they keep that going all the way through the DFL Super Bowl? To do that they will need Deshaun Watson, Antonio Brown, Tyler Boyd, and Eric Ebron to be the high scoring players they have been all season and get help from a solid defense to pick up the rest of the points. If AP isn't healthy for the playoff run it could be an early exit for the Rams. Who look to get past the AFC title game where they lost last year
Record: (9-3)
5. Browns : The Browns are the top team top team to not earn a bye in the playoffs, sitting at 8-4 and having the 2nd highest scoring team in the DFL, the Browns are a legit threat to the Redskins and Vikings in the NFC and are the dark horse in my opinion this playoff. Can Pat Mahomes, Todd Gurley, and Emmanuel Sanders lead the Browns to an improbable worst to first season?
Record: (8-4)
6. Patriots : The Pats had a solid start to the season winning their first 4 matchups, but finished the season 3-5 over the last 8 weeks. Can they get things figured out in the playoffs and make a run at the title, led by Brady or Baker at QB, Kamara at RB, Njoku at RB and Khalil Mack at the fore front of the defense, or will the in season struggles continue and lead them to an early playoff exit.
Record: (7-5)
7. Broncos : Like the Pats, the Broncos had an up and down season, one point looking like they might miss the playoffs. A strong two final weeks of the season saw them get into the playoffs. Can Cam Newton, Mark Ingram, Mike Evans, Travis Kelce, and Allen Robinson lead the Broncos to a playoff win against the Panthers?
Record: (7-5)
8. Lions : The Lions made the playoff by getting a 4 week win streak to end the season, they are one of the hottest teams in the league coming into the playoffs, but a tough matchup against the Pats to open the playoffs up will not be easy. They need Philip Rivers, Trey Burton, company to have a big week to knock off the Pats and keep their playoff run going.
Record: (7-5)
9. Falcons : The Falcons used a 3 week win streak to make the playoffs after opening the season near the bottom of the league and facing a big uphill climb to make the playoffs. After starting the season 1-4, the Falcons finished 6-1 the last 7 weeks of the season. Can Big Ben, Lamar Miller and their defense keep the hot streak going and make a run in the playoffs?
Record: (7-5)
10. Panthers : The Panthers almost missed the playoffs after starting the season off so well. They lost 4 straight and need a win on the final week to make the playoffs. After starting 0-1, they ran off 6 straight wins, then lost 4 in a row. He needs to have a strong week to upset the Broncos and to do that he needs Matt Ryan, James White, Robert Woods, and Kyle Rudolph to have big weeks.
Record: (7-5)
11. Saints : The Saints managed to get make the playoffs despite losing the last week of the season and finishing 6-6. They are one of the highest scoring teams in the league, so that helps them going into the playoffs and their matchup with the Browns, but losing Gordon for the week and Dalton for the season will make this a difficult task for the Saints to win over the Browns, unless Demaryius Thomas, Zach Ertz, and T.Y Hilton can go off
Record: (6-6)
12. Cowboys : The Cowboys won their division with 8 wins, but go into the playoffs as the lowest scoring playoff team and were the 22nd highest scoring team in the league on the season. Can they overcome the regular season scoring woes and beat the Falcons to advance to the next round. They will need Kirk Cousins, Zeke and Greg Olsen to lead them to a big scoring week that they did not have many of during the season.
Record: (8-4)
