DFL Week 2 Rankings: Some big changes after week 1, probably the biggest we will see all season. Again if you don't like where you are, all you gotta do is win! Good Luck week 2 guys.
1. Los Angeles Rams - : The Rams started their title defense off with a solid win over the Cardinals, thanks to big games from Ekeler and Littleton. Despite two players that put up 0s and 3 offensive players combining for 5.9 points, they put up 134 points on the week. This week they get a stiff challenge facing off with the Broncos, so can the Rams keep hold of the top spot in the rankings with another win, or will the Broncos be the first to knock them off this year?
Record: (1-0)
2. Washington Redskins - : The Redskins scored the most points in week 1, which was necessary to take a big win over the Bengals, winning by 5 points. He had a big week from Mahomes, Hopkins, and Andrews to lead the team to the massive 157 point total on the week. After the heavy weight battle, the Redskins will now face the Giants, can the Redskins lead the league in points for the second straight week?
Record: (1-0)
3. Cincinnati Bengals - : Despite putting up the second most points on the week in the league, the Bengals have to settle for a loss to kick off their season. Scoring 152 points will be a good enough total to win pretty much any week, so the loss is not that concerning at this point in the season. The team will just hope Kamara, Jeffrey, and Mosley continue to put up big point totals, while other guys like Goff and their TE spot start to put up better numbers. The Bengals might be in for another test as they face off with the Seahawks who also had a good week 1.
Record: (0-1)
4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers +3 : Tampa starts the season off with a big 58 point win over the Giants, thanks to big point totals from Brady and CMC. With the strong start the team will now have Antonio Brown to use and give them another threat for big point totals each week. As long as Tampa has another week like week 1 they should start the season off 2-0 as the Lions did not look good in week 1.
Record: (1-0)
5. Minnesota Vikings +5 : Facing Atlanta in their first game without Luck, the Vikings picked up a good win, putting up a solid 120 points, led by a big game from Dalvin Cook and solid games from Calvin Ridley, Vernon Hargreaves, and Malik Hooker. The win and solid performance from Brissett kicked the post Luck era off to the right start. Going against Kansas City and his guys keep that going and pick up another win?
Record: (1-0)
6. San Francisco 49ers -2 : With his big guns on offense struggling to put the huge point totals together like SF would expect, they have to settle for a narrow 4 point loss at the hands of the Titans. Looking to bounce back and get guys back on track, they need Wilson, Gurley, Kittle, and JuJu to be their normal big point total self, when they face off with the Cowboys. They are hoping to not get off to an 0-2 start and make things harder to get back on track.
Record: (0-1)
7. Atlanta Falcons -1 : The Falcons are another team I started out high in the power rankings to get off to a slow start, losing their first week matchup to a very solid Vikings team. The Falcons did not get enough from guys like Big Ben and Jared Cook, and did not get much from the defense leading to the week 1 loss. Can they get things righted this week, and get those guys mentioned back on track to take down the Patriots, and get back to even on the record line early this season?
Record: (0-1)
8. Chicago Bears +4 : Chicago put up a top 5 points in week 1 scoring 136 to get their season kicked off in the right way. Big games from Wentz, David Johnson, and Delanie Walker on offense gave them a combined 70 total points between the 3. Will the Bears continue this 180 from a season ago and become a title contender this season? A win in week two against the Saints would set this team up to do just that.
Record: (1-0)
9. Denver Broncos -4 : The Broncos did not get off to the start they had hoped for at all. They only put up 103 points on their way to a week 1 loss to the Cowboys. Getting only 8 points from Cam, Mixon, and Corey Davis did not help their cause this week, as the other guys despite solid games were not able to pick up for those guys. This week facing off with the Rams they will need those guys to pick up and have big games if they want to get the upset and start the season 1-1, if that does not happen, a strong contender is staring 0-2, early in the season, right in the face.
Record: (0-1)
10. Pittsburgh Steelers +6 : With the big 150 point week, the Steelers might have been the most surprising/impressive team in week 1. Thanks in part by the monster game D-Jax had, and Le’Veon looking like his normal self with the Jets, and a solid day overall by his defense, the Steelers managed the 3rd most points in week 1. They get the Cardinals in week 2, and will hope that his team can keep this strong start going and insert themselves into the conversation as a team that could be a contender this season.
Record: (1-0)
11. Kansas City Chiefs - : The Chiefs start the season 1-0, but the win was not that impressive, as they only put up 111 points, and picked up the win because his opponent only put up 105. With Trubisky, Fournette, and both DL not putting up strong point totals, the team was not able to put up big points like the rest of the top teams. With Hunter Henry going down and Graham Gano lost for the season, the Chiefs will have a difficult task in week 2 as they take on the Vikings. Can they get better production and get a solid win in week 2?
Record: (1-0)
12. Tennessee Titans +3 : The Titans started their season off with a big win over a strong 49er team, thanks in part to all 5 offensive starters having solid days which meant they all score 10+ points, and a good outing across the board from their defense. After the strong start, they draw the Browns this week, and will look to go 2-0 on the season, and maybe climb into the top 10 in the Rankings. If Kelce and Cohen both start putting up more than just 10 points this team will be a very strong team.
Record: (1-0)
13. Dallas Cowboys +1 : The Cowboys started their season off with a nice upset win, taking the Broncos down with a 108 to 103 victory. The win came even with Cousins, Zeke, Fuller, and Olsen having relatively quiet games, they will hope that does not continue, as 108 points will most likely not lead to many wins this season. With Guice going down their options get even thinner, they will have to hope Hollywood Brown can do even half of what he did in week 1 so the offense does not drop to only 4 productive players. As facing a strong 49er team this week, only having 4 usable offensive weapons will not be good.
Record: (1-0)
14. New York Giants -6 : The Giants got off to a very rocky start, only putting 78 points up. Having an offense that only puts up 30 combined points is definitely not a recipe for success. Also not having a kicker, and a defender that scored 0 easily shows why this team had such a rough week. Getting to face the Redskins in week 2, makes things very difficult to bounce back from what happened in week 1. They need Winston, Henry, Howard, and Diggs to do a lot more in week 2 to have a shot at taking down the Redskins.
Record: (0-1)
15. New Orleans Saints -6 : The Saints, like the Giants above them did not get the season off on the right foot like they would have hoped. Thanks to Foles going down kind of early, and Hilton being the only player for them to score over 12 points, the Saints only managed to put up 98 points on the week. Week 2 will put them up against a good Bears team, with the rookie Minshew at QB now, can this team start to put more points up and get that first win of the season?
Record: (0-1)
16. Indianapolis Colts -3 : The Colts had a solid week to open the season, unfortunately for them, they ran into the Seahawks who had a really big week. Stafford led the way with an almost 30 point game, McDonald and Mike Williams did not have strong games, leading to the 26 point loss. For week 2 the Colts get to face off with Panthers and will look to have at least a week like they had last week, if they do that the team should get that first win of the season.
Record: (0-1)
17. New England Patriots +1 : The Pats had a solid 115 point day leading to a 17 point win over the Saints. Mack led the way with a big 27 point game, followed up by his kicker Gostkowski with 16. With Baker, David Montgomery, and Tyreek Hill have below average days, the Pats will hope the first 2 get to normal point totals and get Hill to come back healthy as soon as possible. Facing off with the Falcons this week, can the Pats put up some more points than they did last week and pick up an upset over Atlanta and get to 2-0 on the season?
Record: (1-0)
18. Green Bay Packers -1 : The Packers took a narrow 6 point loss at the hands of the Chiefs to open the season. Rodgers and Drake had very poor days on offense, and had no defender score more than 9 points on the week, with their K also only getting 5 points. Add that all up and you get only 105 points on the week and a loss to start the season. Facing the Jets this week will Rodgers and company get back on track and lead the Packers to a bigger point total and a week 2 win?
Record: (0-1)
19. Seattle Seahawks +4 : Under new ownership, the Seahawks kick off this new era with a big win by putting up 147 points and knocking off a good Colts team. Dak, Mark Ingram, and Larry Fitz all had big games to lead the way for this Seahawk team, and Butler and Thompson had solid 10 point days on defense. After the hot start, Seattle now has to face a bigger challenge in the form of Cincinnati, who was one of the few teams to score more than them in week 1. Can this strong start to the season see Seattle pick up an upset and knock the Bengals down to 0-2?
Record: (1-0)
20. New York Jets -1 : The Jets start the season off 0-1 with a 35 point loss to the Bears, putting up 101 points themselves. Despite a huge game from the rookie Hockenson and a solid game from Sutton the rest of the team did not have great days leading to the big loss. This week with Mariotta at QB in place of the sick Darnold, can the Jets get better performances from most of the guys on their roster and knock off the Packers to get the first win of the season?
Record: (0-1)
21. Arizona Cardinals -1 : The Cardinals like the Jets start off the season 0-1, losing their matchup by 32 points to the Rams. Carson led the offense with 21 points, and got support from Damien Williams with 15 points, but the other guys and most of the guys on defense did not hold their own leading the team to only putting up 102 points. The Cardinals do not get any rest after the matchup with last years champ, they now get a Steelers team that put up 150 points week one, can the Cardinals keep pace this week, and get a solid upset early this season, or start out 0-2?
Record: (0-1)
22. Detroit Lions -1 : The Lions start the season 1-0, but if they had played any other team in the league they would be 0-2. 72 points on a week is hard to get wins, but they will take the 1-0 start. No kicker, 2 offensive 0s, and 3 players on defense combined for 2 points is a big reason for the slow week, so if the Lions get that righted they could start being a threat to teams they play. This week again with no kicker and a matchup against a strong Tampa team can the Lions pull another crazy win, or fall to 1-1 on the season?
Record: (0-1)
23. Carolina Panthers -1 : The Panthers put up the lowest point total in week 1, managing only 64 points. Matt Ryan and Jamison Crowder combined for 35 points and over half the teams total. The rest of the squad struggled to manage anymore than 6.6 points for any one player, getting 16 total from their defense. Week 2 they get the Colts, but the biggest challenge might be their own team, if guys can’t start putting up bigger points this team will continue to struggle, and will be the favorite to get the unwanted Browns name next season.
Record: (0-1)
24. Cleveland Browns (PHI) - : The Browns did not have a very good week, getting doubled up on in points losing 150 to 75 to the Steelers. Four of his starters on offense had solid days, but their TE did not. The defenders for the Browns managed only 23 points on the week. This week they will face the Titans and hope that their defenders have a better day, and they don’t get basically a 0 from their TE.
Record: (0-1)
1. Los Angeles Rams - : The Rams started their title defense off with a solid win over the Cardinals, thanks to big games from Ekeler and Littleton.
